Thirty-five years ago the Lamb twins, Harris and Willis, confused teachers in the schools at Boone and confouded basketball opponents of boone High School.
The identical twins still are baffling people – but now at Cedar Rapids, where Harris is alumni director at Coe College and Willis is an insurance man. And they enjoy doing it.
Recently, Willis was a patient at St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was visited frequently by Harris.
One day, in an impish mood, Willis got out of his hospital bed, dressed and then started asking nurses: “Have you seen my brother? He’s not in his room.”
Then he encountered a doctor who inquired, “How is Willis?” Willis replied, “Oh, he’s well enough to be up and around a bit.”
Then Willis returned to his room, got back in bed and rang for a nurse to whom he had been talking a few minutes earlier.
I need some cough medicine,” he told her. “By the way, I’m expecting my brother. Have you seen him around.
